7/22/15 – Johnson Park Scenic “Drive”

PedalGR, meeting at 6:30pm on Wednesday, 7/22/2015 at Founder’s Brewing Company, 235 Grandville Ave SW. PedalGR is a ride of the Rapid Wheelmen Bicycle Club, but membership is not required to participate.

This week we’re taking advantage of those long summer days for a ride to the Johnson Park Scenic Loop. We’ll also hit a sampling of the trails in Millennium Park, one of my favorite places in Michigan. For a trip back in time, check out the photo tour I did of the Millennium Park trails east of Maynard just after they opened in 2009. They look different, yet much the same today, with 6 years of vegetation growth.

Sounds like spring!! #30daysofbiking

7/8/15 – The Ice Cream Ride!!

PedalGR, meeting at 6:30pm on Wednesday, 7/8/2015 at Founder’s Brewing Company, 235 Grandville Ave SW. PedalGR is a ride of the Rapid Wheelmen Bicycle Club, but membership is not required to participate.

It’s time for the PedalGR Ice Cream Ride!!! As always, we’ll provide you with $2 cold hard cash, courtesy of the Rapid Wheelmen Bicycle Club. It should get you a small cone, but if you want anything more expensive than $2, be sure to bring a little extra cash.

This year’s ice cream ride takes us takes us to a new destination in Alger Heights, The Dog King. Last time we went for ice cream in Alger Heights, it was 97 degrees on the ride. Thankfully, temps promise to be a BIT more moderate this year. We’ll also be mixing in some unpaved sections near Reeds Lake and at MacKay-Jaycees park.
