PedalGR will be meeting tomorrow at 6pm instead of the normal 6:30. We’ll be riding up to Riverside Park to participate in the GR Mayor George Heartwell’s final Mayor’s Ride at 6:30pm.
If you can’t make it to Founders by 6pm, you can also meet us at Riverside Park at the Guild St (Island Shelter) entrance at 6:20. The City of GR, MDOT, and Mayor Heartwell will be cutting a ribbon for the official opening of the Monroe Ave separated two-way cycletrack.
Hello all! It’s Active Commute Week! If you haven’t planned or executed an active commute this week, there’s still time! On Friday there will be over 20 pitstops all over GR to help you along on your morning commute. Stop by any of them for some encouragement, refreshment, and comeraderie. http://acwgr.org/events/pit-stops/
For this week’s ride, we weave our way around the SW side, checking out a small bit of the Plaster Creek Trail and exploring some new places where PedalGR hasn’t traveled. In 8 years of doing these rides, we’ve certainly covered a lot of the map, so I still love finding new places.
Need to Know:
This is a no-drop ride. We will do our very best to keep the group together and make sure no-one gets separated or left behind.
Ride is ~14 miles and will have a few stops along the way. It should take about 1 1/2-2 hours. (PedalGR is not a race).
HELMETS ARE REQUIRED on Rapid Wheelmen Club rides. (The insurance company’s lawyers insist) Please email or comment if you need to borrow one and we will try to accommodate you.
